What God Has Done

Sometimes it takes someone from the outside looking in to help us see things that should be obvious. Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, provides that perspective this week in Exodus 18. He clarifies that Moses is trying to do too much, and the central character in this story is God.

Committed

As our nation recognizes veterans this weekend, we are reminded of the importance of commitment. We are committed to many things in life, but what is our commitment level when it comes to our walk with Christ?

Haiti Missions Report

David Dirrim shares this report on the good work going on in Haiti and how some of the work is changing.

Gentleness

In our culture gentleness is usually equated with weakness. In scripture we see it mentioned often in the context of strength. Jesus is our example of gentleness and strength. Can we be gentle like Him?

God Cares

God’s concern for the Israelites continues after choosing Moses, showing His power in the plagues, freeing them from slavery and guiding them from danger through the Red Sea. He continues to care for their needs along their journey. God cares for each of us, even when we don’t see Him clearly.

Faithfulness

Faithfulness is a major theme throughout the Bible. We see example after example of God’s faithfulness and the importance of our own. Walking by faith will carry us through difficult times as God remains faithful to us.

God With Us

Our Exodus series resumes this week as the Israelites are freed and heading toward the Red Sea. Throughout the journey, God cares for them and reminds them of His presence.

Kindness and Goodness

Who is the kindest person you know? Someone probably comes to mind for each of us, but what is it that makes that person stand out? All of us who follow Jesus should be kind, because of His example of kindness and the kindness God shows to us.

Overcoming Grief

Southwest hosts the Area Wide Teen Gathering this week. The theme for the year is Overcome. Tonight John Marble shares this lesson about overcoming grief and reminds us that being present is often more meaningful than the words we say.

Patience

Our Fruit of the Spirit resumes this week with a study of patience. When are we impatient, and what does God’s power allow us to do about it?
