Grace and Peace

Floyd Kaiser returns to the pulpit this week with a lesson about grace and peace.

Bricks

Equipped with a mission, a plan and signs for proof, Moses and Aaron went before Pharaoh with a bold request. Pharaoh quickly denied them and took steps to discourage Israel and those who spoke on God’s behalf. What follows is a display of God’s power over all and His faithfulness to His people.

Peace

In a world full of people who want to escalate every conflict, Jesus calls on us to be peacemakers. This week we learn where that process begins and that seeking peace is possible because of the power of the Spirit.

God Speaks

In the middle of a normal day, God speaks, tells His plan of deliverance and chooses Moses to lead the effort. Moses recognizes that this work needs to be done, but he wants someone else to do it. Moses sounds a lot like us, doesn’t he? God reassures Moses (and us) that we can join His mission because He is able.

Joy

It’s easy to be joyful when things are going well, but how can we find joy in hard times? This fruit of the Spirit is within our grasp, and God shows us the path to find it.

God Hears

The book of Genesis closes with one of the children of Israel, Joseph, leading the effort to save Egypt from famine. As the book of Exodus begins, the Israelites find themselves enslaved by the same nation they helped save. Although they may feel as if they have been forgotten, God hears their cries.

Love

This week we begin a new series about the fruit of the Spirit. The first fruit named in the list in Galatians 5 is the fruit by which we should be known–love.
