In January 2009, a house was rented to house the most destitute of the widows/widowers in
the Widows' Program.  This will provide them with shelter, care and nutritious meals.  The facility
currently houses 19 widows, and more residents can be added as funds become available.
In association with Haitian Christians, this
program provides food for needy widows in
the churches of Christ throughout the Cap
Haitien area.  Local churches distribute funds
and check on widows in their congregations.  
At this time, 71 widows are served.

Clinics for Widows
Dr. Bruce Dennis has organized groups of
healthcare professionals to travel to Haiti every
three months to conduct clinics for the widows and
widowers served by the program.  They are able to
monitor diabetes, hypertension and other chronic
conditions on an ongoing basis.
