Boldness

Sharing Jesus with others requires us to be bold. That does not mean that we should be brash or rude. We follow the example of Jesus by overcoming fear to live lives that impact others for Him.

Sharing Jesus

“Have you no desire to see others converted by the gospel? Would you steal to heaven alone, and carry none of your neighbors with you?” – William Gurnall (1616-1679)

As followers of Jesus, our answer to those questions should be a resounding no. But words are not enough. We need to live lives that share Jesus with those around us.

Serving Our Community

In Jeremiah 29, God instructs the exiles to seek the welfare of the city. His expectation is the same for us. As individuals and as a church family, we want to actively serve our community.

Hospitality

When we think of commands in scripture, we might overlook hospitality. Although it begins as a command, God intends for it to become on of the most obvious things people see in His followers. Our hospitality flows out of His love for people.

What Mothers Do

Several times in scripture, God is described using feminine terms. On this Mother’s Day, we look at some of the characteristics that women share with the God who created them.

Selflessness

To completely love God and others, we have to lay down our own preferences. God calls us to be selfless, as Jesus taught in words and example.

Connecting as Family

God exists in community and created people to live the same way. His church is designed to be a community of family, where we should be connected in one another’s lives.

Empty

Although the religious and governmental leaders think they are controlling and manipulating the events leading to the crucifixion of Jesus, they are actually part of God’s greater plan that will overcome death for Him and us.

The King’s Cross

In the events of Matthew 26, we see a clear contrast of ways to interact with situations and one another. At every turn, Jesus is the example of seeing our world in the right way.

Ready to Serve

In Matthew 24 and 25, Jesus encourages His followers to be ready, watchful and active. This week we look at the climax of this teaching at the end of Matthew 25. The ready, watchful and active Christian is one who serves. By serving those in need, we serve Jesus.
