Things are busy at the orphanage

The Cap Haitien Children's Home is going through
a time of major transition.  The CHCH has hosted
groups almost every week this summer.  We
started the summer with groups from Ada,
Chicago, San Antonio, Ada again, Nashville and
Little Rock.  Groups have served the orphanage
by teaching Bible classes to the children, painting
and working to improve the yard and drainage.

Herarmo (Ramon) Alexis, one of the employees
at the orphanage, was shot in the leg a
few weeks
ago.
David Dirrim and Tommy Paul visited with
him last week when they were in Haiti.
He is doing
well and p
lans to be back at work this week.

Hunter and Jillian Kittrell have accepted the
Administrator position.  They will be moving to
Haiti in early 2011.

Orphanage Gardens

Before the hot midsummer weather took its toll,
the vegetable gardens at the orphanage were
doing well and providing produce for the
orphanage kitchen.  Raphael Jonathan (one of the
preachers for the PetitAnse congregation adjoining
the orphanage and a graduate of the Center for
Biblical Studies) works with the gardens and
teaches the children about how to plant and care
for it.
They are replanting now to take advantage
of the fall rains.
